GOTS, or Global Organic Textile Standard, is the highest certification for organic cotton. It’s not just a fancy label—it guarantees that the cotton is grown without toxic chemicals, that farmers and workers are treated fairly, and that the entire process is more sustainable. No empty claims. It’s certified proof that every step is held to the highest standard.

FROM A-DAM'S GENESIS
No GOTS, no go.
We didn’t switch to GOTS-certified organic cotton, we started with it. Cotton is the base of most underwear, and for good reason: it’s sturdy, breathable, and holds the fort. From day one, every product we made, from boxers, to socks, tees and sweaters, was fully GOTS-certified. While we’re now exploring other premium materials like MODAL Tencel™, GOTS organic cotton remains our foundation.

'Organic' isn't
always organic
The word ‘organic’ doesn’t mean much without proof. That’s why we rely on GOTS certification, to guarantee transparency, accountability, and real impact. When we say GOTS-certified, it means every step meets strict environmental and social criteria. It also supports progress on all 17 Sustainable Development Goals*, making it more than just a label, it’s a commitment.
It’s good for the planet, good for people, and good for everyone’s conscience.

THE PROCESS BEHIND THE PROMISE
From plant to product
GOTS-certified cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides, chemicals, or GMOs. Farmers use crop rotation and natural methods to maintain soil health. After harvesting, every step from spinning to dyeing, manufacturing, and even recycling leftover cotton at the factory, is monitored for responsible practices. The packaging and the warehouse it ships from also meet strict social and environmental standards. Even this page follows GOTS guidelines.
It’s a long process, but hey, doing things right takes time and effort.

The demand for organic cotton keeps rising and that’s a good thing. But with growth comes the need to stay on top of the game. GOTS keeps our standards high and the process transparent. At A-dam, we’re committed to doing things right. We’ve already increased the cotton content in our crew socks from 70% to 78% for SS25. We're also stepping things up with recycled cotton (RCS) in our crew socks for 2026. And we’re working on 100% GOTS-certified organic socks in the near future. So you see, sustainability isn’t a trend for us. It’s in our DNA.
And it’s the only way forward.
